To point out, there are various themes.  Not to mention the many ways kids use them with pencils, crayons, markers or paint to add details to projects.  Indeed, these come in especially handy when kids get stuck on what and how to do illustrations.

In brief, these few examples show how children use Kids Drawing Stencils in lessons like Math, Science, Writing and of course Art.

Math and Science: To begin with, kids compare different kinds of animals using venn diagrams, then they use charts or tables to do the comparison.  For the most part, children work in small groups to complete tasks.

Creative Writing: In any event, kids use these drawing stencils to make illustrations for stories or  poems.  For example, animals on the farm, flowers, butterflies, and even write about pirates.

Science: On the other hand, animal stencils for example are excellent teaching aids for lessons on jungle animals found all over the world.  Further research on these animals by young children teach about the shapes and other features such as how long or short their horns are.  Moreover, kids identify and name those with long necks and so on.

Build Vocabulary

Another key point about Kids Drawing Stencils is that many come with animals like hippopotamus, elephant, monkey, lion, giraffe, the rhinoceros and more.  In fact, when children use them in small groups they  collaborate with each other.

Certainly, in their collaboration, children discuss the names of the animals, the continents and countries where they may be found, their habitats and how they are categorized like mammals, reptiles, amphibians.

Important to realize here that activity like this helps kids learn the vocabulary in context: For example warm-blooded, cold-blooded, carnivore, herbivore, omnivore, grasslands, jungle, and learning goes on.

Of course we know that these are not the only teaching aids, but it is just another way to use Kids Drawing Stencils to enrich lessons.  So are Kids Drawing Stencils Modern Teaching Aids?

Personalize Touch

Indeed kids personalize touch to their stencil art is cute.  In particular, this comes out in the way they color, paint or write with them.  In fact, they get even more creative when they make banners, cards or even a mural.

Enhance Projects

Kids Drawing Stencils

I taught at an IB school in the Cayman Islands, and one year the students were involved in a project about marine life.  I remember how many of those students used drawing stencils to enhance their projects.  I must say that the exhibition of their work was greatly admired by parents and others in the community, and they were given a high grade too.

Easy Maintenance

Easy maintenance of these plastic drawing templates is a breeze.  Immediately after painting, wash them under running water.  Usually, they are made from durable material so they are reusable.

Identify Parts of Objects

A brief example is the use of transport stencils.   They are ideal to incorporate in a lesson about different types of transportation.  Children can  draw the images and identify the featured parts like the sails and propellers.  They may add their personal touch to the coloring or painting of each and discuss how they work.

Bulletin Board Ideas

Classify animals in groups and make a group mural.  Take a large white paper and divide it into six sections.  Label each section with a different classification.  Use appropriate drawing template to draw the animal for each section.

Make a class mural of rainforest animals and classify them.

Select and draw one animal that interest you the most.  Write a short report about that animal.  Include the animal’s habitat, it’s food, how it moves and breathes.  How would you classify it?
